Student Body Presidents
The position of Student Body President originated from the re-organization of the Student Government Association when it split into three branches in 1971-72. Prior to this time, the Student Body President was considered the President of the Senate, later commonly referred to as Presidents of the Student Body. Thus, the Student Body Presidents and the Speakers of the Senate share a common history. In 2009, upon establishing the Archives of the Senate, it was discovered that the Student Senate in the 1980s numbered itself incorrectly upon creation of numbered session and were off by one year. Thus, the 1st Session was altered to be titled as the Founding Session of the Senate instead.
